Chestnut is just an ordinary guinea pig who is down on his luck. He finds himself in a bad situation. Right when he thought all hope was lost and saw his little guinea life flash before his eyes, Emily rescues him.
Emily welcomes Chestnut into her home. She nourishes him back to health with love and kindness. They develop a very special bond and she fondly calls him Piggy. Then, an ordinary day becomes extraordinary. While him and Emily are up on the rooftop of her high-rise building a strange and magical occurrence happens. A magic stone and a supermoon changes everything. Chestnut and Emily find that they now have an extraordinary ability to speak to each other. Emily finds out just how smart piggy is.
Unfortunately, Emily has a commitment and has to go out of town and can’t take Piggy with her. Her husband Walter is away on business trip so she turns to her grandfather who happens to own a horse ranch in upstate New York.
Emily shares the rooftop encounter with Clayton, her grandfather, and he is very excited about this. He says something strange is going on at the ranch with the horses and he can’t quite figure out what is happening. He is hoping maybe having Piggy around will help.
Recruited by Clayton to help figure out what’s going on and with Clayton’s assurance to Emily that he would take good care of Piggy, off they went on their journey to the ranch. Once at the ranch Piggy, who was always surrounded by concrete and high-rise buildings, is thrown into a new world of endless grass and wide-open spaces.
With the help of a very large cat named Seymour, it doesn’t take Piggy long to find out that something is not quite right with one of the horses. As there are no eyewitness to a crime Piggy and his newfound friends search for clues. He also discovers that he is in the midst of enemies. These are people that will stop at nothing to pull off the crime of the century.
Between a missing foal and kidnapping of two of his new friends, Piggy needs to come up with a plan. Piggy understands time is of the essence and relentlessly follows his instincts hoping they are sharp enough to find out the truth. Piggy will have to dig deep and gather all his guinea courage and strength to solve this crime and rescue his friends!
